E.A.S.T Principles

At Compass Rehabilitation we have created the E.A.S.T principles to give a framework of care that leads positive patient progress on their health journey.

Firstly, Evaluation is key to understanding the patient's condition thoroughly. We conduct a detailed assessment to identify the root cause of the issue and develop a personalized care plan.

Next, Advising comes into play as we communicate the evaluation results to the patient in a clear and compassionate manner. We believe in empowering our patients with knowledge about their condition and treatment options, ensuring they are well-informed every step of the way.

Following this, Strategizing involves creating a specialized treatment plan for the patient's specific needs and goals. Our collaborative approach with medical doctors ensures that we implement evidence-based strategies to maximize the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process.

Lastly, Tailoring is where we fine-tune the treatment plan based on the patient's progress and feedback. We understand that each individual responds differently to treatment, so we continuously adjust and personalize our approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.

By following our diligent 4-step process, we aim to provide top-quality care that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our patients, while working closely with medical doctors to ensure an integrated approach to rehabilitation.

Meet Dr. Alex Hueston, DC

Alex’s primary focus is keeping you active and giving you the tools to take your health into your own hands. His primary objectives of care are pain management, improving functional capacity and mitigating the risk of future re-injury.

Alex graduated in 2019 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from University of Western States in Portland, OR. Before pursuing chiropractic he earned a degree in Human Kinetics from Trinity Western University in Langley, B.C. and gained experience as a student athletic therapist, student massage therapist, certified personal trainer, volunteer running coach and national strength and conditioning coach.

Growing up in Delta, B.C. he discovered his passion for the mountains and ocean, so Vancouver Island seemed like a natural choice to continue his adventure and to establish his career in health and wellness. Growing up playing hockey Alex has spent time working closely with Cowichan Capitals Junior A hockey team. When Alex is not in the clinic you will likely find him hiking, golfing or running on the local trails.
